The "Yue -Sai Chinese Bride" is a truly one of a kind doll.

Everything about her is unique: from the special design of her gown to the way she is packaged, she is one of a kind and in a class of her own.

The Doll wears an ornately decorated jacket with a mandarin upstanding collar and long shirt. She also wears an extraordinarily elaborate Phoenix Coronet, embroidered shoes and handkerchief and gold jewelry. The entire ensemble is decorated with three complicated kinds of Chinese Traditional hand-embroidery in a multitude of symbolic design, including the propitious "drag and phoenix" and "flowers of prosperity". The artist uses a special kind of gold an silver thread to create the luxuriant,delicate and exquisite patterns. With these techniques of intricate embroidery, the artist is able to achieve a remarkable three-dimensional quality on silk.

More than 90% of the "Yue Sai Wa Wa Chinse Bride" ensemble is covered in embroidery decorations. Gold thread flat embroidery is the main technique used but Bead Cluster and Flat Embroidery are also used. Each outfit requires more than 200 hours of hand embroidery by 2-3 really skilled artists. All three types of embroidery employed in making the ensemble were written about very early on in historical records. In Gold-thread Embroidery , gold or silver three is used to layout the patterns, then thin thread is sewn around the edge of the patterns to affix them onto the silk. This is first found in the embroideries of the Tang Dynasty (1,400 years ago!) It was used only for dragon and other propitious designs on articles worn by very special people.

The Phoenix Coronet is made using the Bead Cluster Embroidery technique, which gives the Coronet a greens sense of movement. The pearls in the Phoenix Coronet are real and her earrings and rings are all 24K (pure) gold. The stunning display box is tastefully carved in expensive Mahogany wood. It is built to last forever. Finally, the doll is protectively encased in an outer box of luxurious silk brocade.
